Elementary Science Olympiad -3rd-5th grade students, School sponsored teams
Elementary Science Olympiad provides students engaging learning opportunities in STEM in a variety of ways. ESO may be used for classroom instruction, Science Days/Nights, Inter-grade level competition (such as a Science Field Day) and as a Competition. Each state/event organizer determines whether to offer ESO competitions. Georgia hosts one of the largest ESO competitions with 65 teams each May at Kennesaw State University. The Savannah Regional Competition is hosted each year in March for Chatham, Bryan, Effingham, and Liberty county schools.
Georgia FIRST LEGO League – 4th - 8th grade
FIRST LEGO League introduces students to real world problems using LEGO robotics, coding, and problem solving. Students are encouraged to innovate unique solutions to today’s problems, as well as use critical thinking skills to approach and navigate robot game/coding missions. The Savannah Regional Competition is held each year in early December.
K-12 InVenture Prize – Kindergarten – 12th grade students
K-12 InVenture Prize is and invention based competition that encourages students to be entrepreneurs and inventors. Students use the engineering design process to come up with novel solutions to real-world problems. Through prototyping, trial and error and idea pitching; students create incredible solutions to present to judges at competition. The Savannah Regional Competition is held each year in early February.
